Rich Internet Applications (RIAs) create a consumer surplus of USD 98 bn in India

In India Rich Internet Applications – RIAs are creating a consumer surplus of USD 98 billion which is comparatively higher than other countries which uses these applications.

The RIAs which are mostly used are WhatsApp, Skype, Google Hangout, Facebook messenger and others.

With these applications the individuals are able to easily communicate with others. They are also using these applications to develop their business.

Small business people were searching for a tool with which they can market their product. When they found these RIAs they were very happy and started using them widely.

These RIAs are used to send text message, share videos, images and also used to video call.

Dr Rene Arnold, Head of department markets and perspectives, WIK has said “India continues to be the third largest app economy globally. As compared to other Asia-Pacific countries, India will real additional benefits because of this”.

TV Ramachandran, President Broadband India Forum has said “The regulatory ecosystem in India is evolving and is focused on the ease of doing business and ease of facilitating innovation”.
